The foundation’s mission aligns with that of the company: to create a fairer, more dignified and safer society where the rights of children and women are protected and respected. To achieve this, we will collaborate with various stakeholders, conduct research, share findings in more accessible ways, work more closely with civil society organisations such as women-led groups, strengthen capacity sharing, and undertake engaging projects. We consistently adopt an innovative and people-centred approach in our work.

This marks a major milestone in our journey, and we’re thrilled to introduce the founding board members of Tsunagu Foundation:

Masumi Yamashina – Chair

She brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in child protection, gender-based violence, gender, and livelihoods. She worked with UNICEF, IFRC, and the Japanese Red Cross in both development and humanitarian contexts, including Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, China, Zimbabwe, and South Sudan, before establishing her company, Tsunagu, in 2021. As a board member, she will bring her extensive experience in human rights in fragile settings as well as her ability to “connect” different actors and ideas to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

Mark van Dorp – Vice-Chair

With a background in economics and 25 years of experience in sustainable economic development in fragile and conflict-affected areas, private sector development, and conflict-sensitive, peace-promoting business, he has applied this expertise to projects in various fragile contexts, including Lebanon, Iraq, Colombia, Cameroon, DRC, Chad, Kenya, Mali, Nigeria, and South Sudan. As a board member, he will bring his extensive experience, including work with the private sector and strategic insights gained through collaboration with various stakeholders in various settings.

Natasha Mulji – Secretary/Treasurer

An operations and finance expert supporting international development consultants and organizations. With a background in finance, economics, and strategic marketing, she has held pivotal operational and financial roles across both the private and nonprofit sectors. As a board member, she brings financial leadership and strategic insight to advance the foundation’s mission.
